Stitch

LEARN, APPLY & DEEPEN PRACTICE.

Action learning where members collectively hold the knowledge, power and shape outcomes

Stitch is a programme designed with collective knowledge and experience at its heart. A dedicated shared-space of knowledge, expertise and practice to help practitioners grow their perspectives and skill sets.

The learning collective will be made of members from across the social sector and different disciplines, all seeking to share their approaches and to learn from others. Stitch will be hosted across online and in-person spaces to provide flexibility and frequent access to support from across the membership.

Why join a learning collective?

1. Contextual Relevance

Traditional courses can feel abstract or disconnected from the real-world challenges practitioners face. A learning collective allows members to bring live problems into the space and explore them alongside peers who understand the complexities of working in systems that are political, constrained, or under-resourced.

2. Peer Wisdom Over Expert Instruction

A learning collective honours deep experiential knowledge by valuing peer exchange as much as (or more than) top-down teaching. It allows participants to learn with and from each other.

3. Relational Learning and Solidarity

Collectives foster relationships and trust over time. This creates space for honest reflection, mutual support, and shared problem-solving.

4. Co-Creation, Not Consumption

A collective invites participants to shape the agenda, challenge assumptions, and explore ideas collaboratively. For those seeking not just knowledge exchange but transformation, this participatory approach can be far more powerful.

5. Shared Purpose and Collective Action

A learning collective offers more than skills; it offers a sense of belonging to a wider movement, where learning is directly tied to action and impact.

What does it look like?

Over 6 months*, members of Stitch will access and share resource, connect projects, receive and provide feedback, apply and develop individual practice, and participate in hosted learning sessions across the topics of:

1 / Collective Behaviours – how we nurture and deepen understanding of collective action within our work

2 / Narratives – how we produce and share the stories we need to tell

3 / Participatory Care – how we undertake our participatory and involvement activity with care, and avoid extractive practice

4 / Co-design – how co-design can be facilitated and harnessed to achieve greater outcomes for the communities we serve

5 / Evaluating Shifts – how we can better observe, monitor and capture the changes that occur as a result of our work

6 / Collective Power – how we can play a more significant role in redistributing power through collective action

*Duration may vary dependent on local TOGETHERHOOD needs.

A Learning Collective

Stitch is a learning experience unlike many others; it truly empowers members and embraces their collective experiences. With experienced stewards of learning spaces on-hand to help guide and support, the pace of development in practice can far exceed that of typical learning courses.
